This year has been especially crazy in every sense and direction. I feel like 90% of the time, we were stuck inside of our homes, trying to figure out how to feel normal again.

What remains unchanged is life in the outside world. The seasons stay on track and on schedule. Summer was amazing, fall was magical and winter will be cold and brutal but at the same time, super exciting!

Last year I picked up snowboarding, and before I could start getting better, they had to close down the mountains because of “it-which-shall-not-be-named.”

The snow makes me happy in all aspects: watching it fall while I’m nice and cozy inside my house, looking at a big white mountain, learning a snowsport, and most of all- Christmas. I have gained an appreciation for winter even though in some mornings, I have to commute to work in below-zero temperature.

Despite the bitter cold, I have learned to see the bright side of winter. For some reason, going outside gives me such a great joy and I find myself smiling whenever I’m walking in deep snow.

Winter season last year was by far one of the best but also, the shortest. I can’t wait to see what this years season will be like!

I’m not sure what the future holds, I don’t know how they will make this winter season as “normal” as possible in this little ski resort town. But I am excited to finally be able to keep learning and just be out there again!

I hope to see you on the slopes this year!
